What is Christian Meditation?
For God alone my soul WAITS IN SILENCE; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. Psalm 62:1

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

We believe Christian meditation is founded on God’s original intention for meditation. We’ve taken it and removed all the Eastern teachings and sifted it to its purest form.

How does Christian meditation differ from Eastern or new age meditation? I’m glad you’re asking. Although Christian meditation foundationally follows the path of stillness of mind, we don’t rely on Chakra systems, Kabbalistic tree of life, Kundalini snakes or any form of chants that sway us from Jesus Christ. Christian Meditation Academy has developed a safe, powerful and efficient meditation that centers around the Holy Spirit, who resides within us.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

In the verse above we see that the Holy Spirit resides within us. So, with Christian meditation our focus is to still the mind which is not what some suggest as emptying the mind. Stilling the mind takes effort and is actually a very active exercise within your mind. Stilling the mind requires self-control as you first observe the thoughts that you have moment by moment. You accomplish the moment by moment observation through the breath. If you read the Christian Breathwork Page you’ll learn the importance the breath has with spiritual growth. As you observe the thoughts, you’ll begin to notice that a large percentage of them are deceptive self-fulfilling beliefs that have fooled you into believing that they are part of who you are.

Satan began the ball rolling when he placed into Eve’s mind a self deceptive thought. Adam was also infected by this virus of the mind and it has rolled down hill since then. Christian meditation destroys this virus by allowing you to see what the thoughts really are. Once you’ve identified them, you begin the process of slowing them down and eventually stillness arises and there the Holy Spirit arises and takes control.

Jesus was a great example of self-control. When Satan tried the same trick with Him. Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit squashed any viral thoughts of receiving selfish self centered demonic power. Jesus was able to use the Word of God to fire back ammunition at Satan and he scattered.

So it’s important to realize that here at Christian meditation academy we take your concerns very seriously. We also understand the responsibility we have as Christian coaches to ensure we are using sound Biblical principles to build your spiritual walk with God.
CHRISTIAN MEDITATION IS NOT EASY; It takes time and it takes work. It also takes perseverance, determination, and discipline. Christian meditation takes resourcefulness. It is certainly a lot easier just to kick back and enjoy your Christian life just the way it is. So why bother? Why waste all that time and energy when you already go to church on Sundays, and maybe you also invest in occasional prayer services or Bible studies as a way to strengthen your spiritual walk?

How effective has it been? How is your prayer life? Be honest with yourself. I don’t know how many times I watch churchgoers attend church singing, praying, worshipping God and as soon as they come out it’s like the world snatches them back into the fold. Do you still struggle with the sinful nature? Is your mind still battling with selfish self fulling thoughts? Perhaps stress, anxiety, depressive thoughts, anger issues, making the wrong choices when you knew better?

Have you asked God for wisdom, or to heal your marriage, maybe you're sick in your body or you have loved ones that aren’t recovering? Christian meditation will take you to a much deeper place then you may have never experienced.
How can Christian Meditation help me?
Christian Meditation will give you the self control, peace and strength neccesary to battle the flesh. Let's look at what the Bible tells us about our thoughs within our heart.
And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. Mark 7:20-22

Let us; therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:11-13

Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:2-4
Have you ever taken the time to sit quietly and get to know the being that is within you? Have you sat silently and allowed the Spirit of God to flow through your body and strengthen your daily walk. Have you admired Jesus’ ability to tell Satan to take a hike when he tempted Him, yet you struggle with daily temptations that you know are not of God.

Romans 8:6-8 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God

Christian meditation is not easy because it requires you to sit still and discover that the thoughts that fill your mind are just that, thoughts that come and go. In Christian meditation, you will learn to take ungodly thoughts captive and burn them in the fire. We see that Jesus when He was tempted, his resolve was firm and His thoughts were rooted in the Word of God. How would you handle those temptations? We’ve seen some celebrity singers who were called by God for a purpose, yet they fell to the temptation of the world and now are slaves to it.

Have you ever taken the time to sit quietly and go inward to get an understanding of who you really are? Have you shared time with your inner being? Have you spent time going inward and feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit that reside within you?

Is Christian Meditation Biblical?
Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. Psalm 48:9

I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Psalm 77:12

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. Psalm 143:5

Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I hope you’re reading that passage carefully. It doesn’t say that everyone that claims to be a Christian will enter the gate. Jesus says that few will find it. That should be a warning call to you. Are you walking the spiritual path that leads to the small gate or are you still struggling? Christian meditation academy can help make sure you get into that gate by taking you to a deeper level of spiritual awareness you may never have experienced. And once you get a taste of it, there’s no going back.

Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness

The purpose of meditation is personal spiritual transformation. During the course of research for the building of Christian meditation academy one of the interesting things we found is that a huge number of people once raised through a form of Christian home environment was disappointed by its shortcomings of parental example or church hypocrisy. They quickly vacated Christianity to find a spiritual experience that brought them the peace and joy they were looking for. They found it in Eastern meditation. Although I don’t agree with their choice, I see why they left the Christian faith to find something deeper within themselves. Through meditation they were able to discover the creation of being within them and the essence of the spirit that resides within them. Through training they were able to conquer the deceitful mind and enjoy life and its beauty. Even though they are deceived by the pathway they go, nonetheless the spiritual experience through meditation is quite real.

That’s why when we’ve spoken with many Christians and asked them if they’ve ever taken the time to sit quietly and really get to know the spiritual being within themselves. Most Christians have no idea what that feels like. At Christian meditation academy we can assure you that you will gain an amazing experience of getting to know the spiritual being within you. That relationship will be treasured by you and it will empower you to seek more of God’s love and power. You will easily surrender to the Holy Spirit because you’ve tasted it and it tastes really, really good.

Hebrews 12:11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Meditation is a powerful discipline that puts an edge on your concentration and your thinking power. Then, piece by piece, your own subconscious intentions and mechanics become clear to you. Your discernment sharpens. The precision of your thought rises, and gradually you come to an absolute knowledge of things as they really are, without prejudice, judgment and without illusion. The Holy Spirit has clear access with no obstruction from your

Our minds teem with point of views and objections. We have actually built Jericho walls throughout our own selves and are caught in the prison of our own sort and also dislikes.

To strengthen your mind, initially you need to remove the various sinful weeds -- pull them right out by the root to ensure that they will not expand back. Then you plant the Word of God in fertile soil. Then you will harvest crops of righteousness.

So, we hope that you will look at Christian meditation in a new and exciting light. A practice that will deepen your relationship with yourself and most importantly the Holy Spirit who resides within you.

So take the leap of faith and join us for one of our workshops. You'll be glad you did.
