Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
We believe Christian meditation is founded on God’s original intention for meditation. We’ve taken it and removed all the Eastern teachings and sifted it to its purest form.
How does Christian meditation differ from Eastern or new age meditation? I’m glad you’re asking. Although Christian meditation foundationally follows the path of stillness of mind, we don’t rely on Chakra systems, Kabbalistic tree of life, Kundalini snakes or any form of chants that sway us from Jesus Christ. Christian Meditation Academy has developed a safe, powerful and efficient meditation that centers around the Holy Spirit, who resides within us.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
In the verse above we see that the Holy Spirit resides within us. So, with Christian meditation our focus is to still the mind which is not what some suggest as emptying the mind. Stilling the mind takes effort and is actually a very active exercise within your mind. Stilling the mind requires self-control as you first observe the thoughts that you have moment by moment. You accomplish the moment by moment observation through the breath. If you read the Christian Breathwork Page
you’ll learn the importance the breath has with spiritual growth. As you observe the thoughts, you’ll begin to notice that a large percentage of them are deceptive self-fulfilling beliefs that have fooled you into believing that they are part of who you are.
Satan began the ball rolling when he placed into Eve’s mind a self deceptive thought. Adam was also infected by this virus of the mind and it has rolled down hill since then. Christian meditation destroys this virus by allowing you to see what the thoughts really are. Once you’ve identified them, you begin the process of slowing them down and eventually stillness arises and there the Holy Spirit arises and takes control.
Jesus was a great example of self-control. When Satan tried the same trick with Him. Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit squashed any viral thoughts of receiving selfish self centered demonic power. Jesus was able to use the Word of God to fire back ammunition at Satan and he scattered.
So it’s important to realize that here at Christian meditation academy we take your concerns very seriously. We also understand the responsibility we have as Christian coaches to ensure we are using sound Biblical principles to build your spiritual walk with God.
