What is Christian Breathwork?
Christian Meditation and Breathwork
Christian Breathwork is a powerful process of healing and transformation. It deeply supports the clearing away of old patterns, conditioning, negative thoughts, and emotions that we at times are unwilling to surrender to God. This opens the doors wide for new life and a greater relationship with the Holy Spirit. Most of us don’t breathe fully, we hold back the breath and have been doing so most of our lives. When we start to breathe fully and consciously, we are able to allow God to work within us and release what we have been holding and open to an incredible expansion of spiritual consciousness, forgiveness and love for God, self and others. This inner change is the renewal of the mind that Jesus speaks of.

Christian Breathwork helps to activate the subconscious mind and bring spiritual awareness and discernment not easily accessed through the typical Christian life. Breath opens the power channels in the body provided by God and allows what we have been holding onto to surface and be released. This may be suppressed emotional material, physical blocks in the body, old beliefs structures and identifications, old memories, fight/flight/freeze patterns, and addictions. Christian Breathwork combines coaching and insight as well as a somatic experiential process where clients gain a deep level of insight. They will release sinful footholds, emotional baggage and actually feel the patterns shifting and transforming at a deep cellular level.

Is Christian Breathwork Biblical?
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. Job 33:4
image-photographyLet's take a quick look at what the Bible has to say, not so much about breathwork, in general, but rather what does it say about the breath and its relationship to the spirit. With this in mind, we can determine that God in his genius, the brilliant mind has left clues for us within the Bible to gain revelations that will help our spiritual walk with Him.

Let's take a look at this. The below information comes from a fantastic Hebrew study website www.hebrew-streams.org

In the Hebrew Bible, the word ruach occurs nearly 400 times. Its base meaning is "moving air" — whether in the form of breath, a breeze, or violent storm winds. Ruach is pronounced roo-ach (-ach like the ending of Pesach or Bach). In about 100 places in modern English Bibles, the word is rendered "wind." Notice Yeshua's play on the word pneuma (Greek, wind/spirit) in John 3 and the parallel in John 20: That which is begotten of the flesh is flesh, and that which is begotten of pneuma is pneuma.... The pneuma blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is begotten of the pneuma (Jn 3:6,8). When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive Holy Pneuma." (Jn 20:22)

We can see from this brief study that God was very careful with the words he placed in the Bible. So when we see a word that is interconnected like Ruach, let's take a careful look at what can be revealed from it. Unfortunately, the Eastern arts took hold of it thousands of years ago and no Christians have dared cross into its path to see what is within the practice in its purest form. We take away all the teachings including the self-empowerment and self-salvation beliefs. We turn around and give it back to not a source, but rather to Almighty God. He is our creator and we can do deep within ourselves to abide in his power and glory through powerful breathwork. I've been their first hand and it's amazing.

In my years of breathwork practice, I can tell you that it has turbocharged my spiritual life and my deep relationship with the Holy Spirit. Because Satan stole away a powerful practice and layered it with mystical Chakras, Kundalini snakes and other forms of demonic entities, why would it put such an effort in this form o practice? What if you knew that it was so powerful that he needed to guard it with all forms of pagan rituals and self-administered powers. Think about it. What is he covering up?
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Proverbs 25:28

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Romans 8:5

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 2 Peter 1:5-7

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
